My Journey to Core Kinetic Equine Services
A lifelong passion for helping magnificent animals be their best selves.
My journey with horses began not just as a pastime, but as a profound childhood dream: to help these magnificent animals be their best selves. This early passion was deeply forged at sixteen, connecting with a special horse owned by my aunt. Through countless hours of riding, trail adventures, and engaging in various equestrian activities, she taught me invaluable, foundational lessons about understanding equine movement, the importance of balance in the saddle, and the dedication required for true horsemanship. It was a connection that truly set my path.

While life's path took its turns, that initial dream never faded. Five years ago, when I brought home my own four-year-year-old gelding and weanling filly pony, my passion met real-world challenges. I quickly learned the intricacies of equine maintenance, from essential dental and hoof care to managing unexpected injuries, especially with young horses. Recognizing I was navigating complex territory, in 2022 I sought immersive experience at the Auslam barn in rural Minnesota. Under the guidance of a trainer who worked with everything from police horses to backyard ponies, I gained invaluable insight into horse behavior and handling. The barn's emphasis on confidence as key—underscoring that as the leader, you must own your presence with a 1000-pound teammate—was profoundly ingrained in me.
Working at the barn provided unparalleled exposure. I actively participated in numerous clinics and workshops, attending sessions with visiting experts in saddle fitting, massage, chiropractic, dental care, and farriery. These experiences, coupled with my horses developing their own maintenance issues, compelled me to dive deeper. I utilized these expert contacts, engaging in multiple individual sessions to find appropriate tack and resolve discomfort-driven behavioral issues, particularly with my gelding. A pivotal mentor, a friend of the barn, was instrumental in educating me on correct saddle fit and restriction, which directly led me to equine massage therapy as a solution for issues stemming from ill-fitting tack. She also taught me invaluable lessons about my own leadership and how my horses look to me for comfort and support.
My dedication intensified when my filly sustained a severe leg injury—her entire leg muscle ripped off the bone. Now in Georgia and managing my horses independently, I knew I needed to learn everything possible to help her. Working with local veterinarians, we developed a treatment plan, but I recognized the fundamental structural soundness implications. This drove me to formal education, leading me to equine massage therapy school, where I learned from the very best in the field. To further my comprehensive understanding, I also apprenticed with a farrier for a year, gaining invaluable ground-level experience with diverse hoof conditions and treatments, including attending a horseshoeing and farrier school.
At Core Kinetic Equine Services, I bring together that lifelong dedication, the invaluable lessons learned from my own horses' challenges, and a robust foundation of formal education and practical experience. Every service, from soft tissue evaluation and conformation analysis to rider-horse workshops and pre-purchase support, is built upon this comprehensive understanding and a real-world approach to enhancing equine well-being and partnership. I never take for granted the opportunity to empower both horses and their riders to thrive.
